IT was one of the more unusual cheque presentations Janet Holand had experienced.

Janet, a sister at Thames Valley Hospice. Hatch Lane, Windsor was confronted by around 20 leather-clad bikers on Tuesday who handed over a donation of £200.

She said: "Certainly in my experience this is most unusual but we are grateful for any money received.

"I feel really chuffed that a group have chosen us as their charity."

The group were all members of the Windsor and District branch of the Motorcycle Action Group, which campaigns for bikers' rights.

They held their annual fund-raising day at The Maypole pub, Dedworth on July 20 which featured stalls and a show of customised bikes.

Branch rep Richard Buckland, 41, of Eltham Avenue, Cippenham, said: "It was very well attended, it was a smashing day. There must have been about 300 people over the course of the event."
