Ago Visited his first TT Races with his parents in 1961 and hasn't missed one since, (not to be confused with Ago of H-D spares)
I was born in Dublin in '58, Visited My first TT Races with My parents in '61 and haven't missed one since. I rode My first motorcycle at the age of 11 in '69, an 1958 NSU Quickly after which my Interest in Bikes and The TT Races really took off. I started to take it all in and bought my first legal Bike in '75 a Honda CB125s.
Which brought me a lot of fun and my first major accident involving a car which I survived to continue my exploits. In the early years I attended a lot of bike rallies in Ireland and even took in the Dragon Rally in Wales on a number of occasions.
I have always followed Road Racing but it wasn't until '78 that I had a go at it myself after one too many road accidents. My first year's efforts met with little success, so I took a year out in '79 to save and get myself a good mount for '80. In '80 I contested the Formula 3 class and won a lot of races, had there been an Irish Championship for this class I would have been Champion but My main aim was to contest the world famous TT Races.
My first Crack at the TT Course came in '84 at the Newcomers Manx Grand Prix in which I finished 13th after a lot of trouble in the Race itself but I was happy to finish my first race over the course. Since '84 I have contested races over the mountain course both at the TT itself and the Manx Grand Prix. My best finish to date was when in '98. When I came 7th in the Supersport 400 race and my fastest lap so far was in last Years Senior TT on an RC 30 at just under 109 mph. Not bad seeing as I'm in my Early 40s now.
I became involved with MAG when I moved to the UK in '92. As I didn't know anybody and I thought it would be a great way to make friends and sure enough it was. I'm still in contact with a lot of them since moving to the Island in '98. I wound up being drafted in as rep for Windsor and District for a short while in '96/'97 and they sponsored my efforts in the 1998 400 TT Race which I was most grateful for. I'm glad to hear that Windsor MAG is still a good group and has a lot of support from the locals around the Area.
Since moving to the IOM I have been in touch with the local group but don't get much time to attend meetings as I'm on shift work and my shifts tend to clash with my work.
Over the past 26 years as a biker I have owned over 220 motorcycles and appeared in MCN in '95 when they did an article on me.
